The electrolysis procedure involves the insertion of
a very fine probe directly into the hair follicle, which
is an existing opening in the skin and the application
of a small amount of electrical current. The goal
is to completely destroy the hair germ cells, which are
the source of new hairs and the dermal papilla, which
provides nourishment to the growing hair thus disabling
the hair follicle from producing another hair. Each
hair has to be treated individually and in order to achieve
total permanence a series of treatments is required. There
are many factors involved which must be taken on an individual
basis in order to determine how many treatments you will
need and what can be expected as far as the duration of
each treatment.
-
Laser Hair Removal was introduced by Palomar Medical
Technologies, Inc. in the early 1990’s. They
produce the world’s most advanced laser and pulsed
light systems for aesthetic applications such as permanent
hair reduction. Recognized worldwide as the new
Gold Standard in laser and pulsed light technology, Palomar’s
systems offer exceptional versatility, ease of use, and
patient comfort and safety. Click here to learn

Permanent hair reduction is achieved when the cells responsible
for growing new hair are disabled. Pulses of light
at specific wavelengths can target the pigment in hair
follicles, which absorb the light energy as heat.
Specific wavelengths of light can target both finer and
coarser hair as well as lighter hair, on all skin types.
Different spot sizes and concentrations of power can treat
large areas of hair as well as smaller areas, such as
underarms and bikini lines.

-
Palomar pioneered the use of pulsed light for photo rejuvenation.
This dual-filtering technology provides for wavelength-specific
treatments, delivering results clinically proven to be
as good as or better than the “gold standard”
lasers. The pulsed light hand piece clears vascular and
pigmented lesions with high efficacy and superior patient
comfort.
-
The photo rejuvenation process uses the optimal wavelength
of light to clear vascular and pigmented lesions by targeting
hemoglobin (for vascular lesions) and melanin (for pigmented
lesions). Once the light is absorbed as heat by
the lesion, the lesion disappears. Photo rejuvenation
is effective on the face, arms, chest, and other large
body areas, with no patient downtime. The process
can remove damage caused by years of sun exposure and
minimize the effects of aging.
